Edith McGreevy - a short profile
Edith is a qualified and registered hypnotherapist
and psychotherapist. She also supervises other therapists and counsellors.
A central part of her life has been the intensive study of various
methods of healing. She firmly
believes that in order to heal others you must first heal yourself.
With this in mind she has been involved in self-development for
the past 20 years, participating in personal growth groups and herself
undergoing a journey of self-discovery in individual psychotherapy
sessions. She studied reiki, a natural healing method, and is a
master practitioner and teacher. She is committed to continuing
professional development and has completed numerous training courses
including psychosynthesis, rebirthing and Progoff journalling.
Edith trained in psycho-social counselling at Lifespring, where
she explored counselling approaches from both a transpersonal and
family systems perspective. She obtained a postgraduate diploma
in Therapeutic Hypnosis and Psychotherapy in London in 1995, followed
by a Diploma in Ericksonian Advanced Hypnotherapy in 1998. In 2004
she completed advanced training in EMDR at the University of Ulster
(EMDR is beneficial in the treatment of anxiety and trauma). She
is registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy.
Edith lives in a cottage in the country, near Portglenone, where
she has a private practice. She also has a practice in Belfast.
